May Cairn Subscription Box

This months subscription box has some interesting items that I want to share. It came in with a Cairn Scout newsletter, an organic waffle bar from Honey Stinger (gluten free), 1 Cairn sticker, a Fire Giner key hook, a reusable odor proof bag, and a GrandPa’s FireGrill. Out of all the 6 item, I liked the GrandPa’s Fire Grill. It is a bit small, but I think it would be fun to try it during my camping trip that will be coming soon in July.

Well, If you like today’s post, subscribe to my blog for weekly post on trail reviews, family hikes or group hikes. Also, come follow me on my Facebook page. Tune in until next time.

Family Hike to Lower Yosemite Falls

For Memorial weekend I took my toddlers out to Yosemite National Park. I thought it would be a fun experience to try the Lower Yosemite Falls loop. The weather was great. It was cloudy, breezy, partial sunny and fresh. My children loved it. I loved it.

It was a busy weekend. I have got to say that my toddlers does not have a sense of going one way direction. It made it difficult to track them until people started to move aside. Unfortunately one of my toddler walked right into the moving crowd and tripped. Staying close and holding their hands were the only option to keep them from harm. If you are thinking, “Why didn’t you bring a stroller?”. Well, we did, but did not use it. My husband thought it would be a short hike. Lesson learned.

I had a rough hike with my toddlers though. We can never get perfect family photo shoot. Next time, when they are a little older, we can try this again. Thanks for tuning in!

Mini Family Hike: Buck Ridge Trail

Hey there! It has been a while since my last post, but this week, I am excited to say that there are a few interesting trails I would like to share with you all.

Buck Ridge Trail is located in Hansley Lake. It is roughly 30 mins from Fresno. The trail is 3.1 miles and it can be completed in 1 hour. I took my toddlers out to try the Buck Ridge Trail and we did not get to far into the trail. My toddlers were distracted from the dirt, grass and rocks. It was amazing to see they are learning from everything they saw.

Maybe in my future group hikes, I can take them to try this trail. I’m sure they will love it.

Happy Hiking!

Mini family hike to Blue Oak Trail

This weekend I wanted to take the time to spend a beautiful memory with my two toddlers. We went to Millerton Lake State Recreation Area: South Shore Area. It is roughly 20 miles from Fresno. There was an entrance fee of ten dollars.

It was the prefect day to spend quality time with families and friends. The recreation was full of people and the water level was moderately high. I water was perfect for the girls to swim. They didn’t want to get out. They had so much fun.

After their swim, we did a short hike to Blue Oak trail. According to All Trails.com, Blue Oak trail is roughly 6.3 miles out and back. Now hiking with toddlers, there is a limit for them to hike until they wanted to be held. We hiked a total of 1/2 a mile round trip to the trail head.

The trail was decent for them to hike on. There were a few ditches we had to watch out for and the trail is right along the lake with a sheer drop in certain areas. The wild flowers were beautiful. My girls can’t help it, but to hand picked them. The sunset was also amazing.

In any event, I hope one day I would complete this trail with a few girls of mine and review this wonderful trail that is 20 minutes from town. I think it would be fun to enjoy the view of the lake before the temperature rises to the nineties.
